The Intangible and Unmeasurable Nature of Wealth Today
Eben Pagan wrote a great blog entry last January on this topic that I wanted to share with you all. Make sure you read it here.
Here are the action steps he lists for sharing wealth today (education, enjoyment of life, quality of time and relationships with friends, cultural experience, personal development, fulfillment, contribution):
- Teach something to another person in a way that helps them grow on their path.
- Give someone an experience that will help them evolve.
- Introduce two people that could help each other – without expectation.
- Love another person unconditionally.
- Contribute to a group or cause that is working to change the world.
Great, great great wisdom to understand and follow. What I would add is that in order to keep anything we must give it away. Sounds like an oxymoron, but it isn’t! For example, when I became a 100% raw foodist, after a few years I realized that the only way that I would ever be able to continue to have this immense gift in my life was to share the lifestyle with others. Otherwise it would dry up energetically in my life and I would not desire to keep it up. Reminds me of some U2 lyrics from The Last Night on Earth….”You got it give it away” is repeated over and over again.
So find what it is you have to give and go give it away! All of us have something to give, and we can always be busy further developing ourselves so that we always have more and more to give.
The more value you give, the more influential you will be, and then the more wealth you will inevitably have.

Influence is a billion times more powerful than a good system. Systems are not duplicatable or else there would be a billion duplicatable McDonalds enterprises for example. You can’t just go out and duplicate the McDonald’s franchise. There are a lot of failed franchises.

As you probably are well aware, there is a lot of misunderstanding about the Network Marketing Industry. Here is a great tool to help teach the reality to your prospects by two of the most successful business men in the world.
Believe it or not, the truth is that corporations are the real pyramid schemes! This is because in a corporation, you will never make as much money as those above you unless you get their position. With Network Marketing, you actually can become more successful then those above you, and they talk about this little known fact in this article.
Of course you also need to make sure that the MLM business you are getting involved with is not really a pyramid scheme, but they are now illegal, so it is rarer. However, be aware that if you are made to spend a lot of money on marketing materials then it is a red flag that the business could very well be classified as an illegal pyramid scheme. Training materials are very important, but if a company or leader is making more than just a tiny amount of money from the sale of training materials primarily used to recruit people to sell more training materials, then this is a definite red flag to look out for!
Also- remember MLM’s dirty little secret – There is far more money selling leads, tapes, websites, and videos to MLMers than there is in participating in MLM!!! So while this doesn’t mean that we all shouldn’t spend money on trainings and materials to help us build our business, it does however mean that if all you are doing is spending money on this stuff, and you are not succeeding financially, then you have probably fallen into this MLM trap! Because the next best opportunity is always available to people and the internet markets to people so well, what you get is people leaving your organization as fast as they are coming in. So why is this possible with You Inc. but not with just having a Network Marketing business? Firstly, for the four reasons stated at the beginning of this blog, but secondly, and most importantly, because Network Marketing is not a real business!
Why? Because you don’t own any assets!
Legally, absolutely nothing is yours, not even your downline that you’ve worked so hard for. They can legally take your downline away from you for any reason they want, simply b/c they don’t like you. This has happened to many people before so don’t think it can’t happen to you. This actually happened to me, not because the company didn’t like me, but because my upline didn’t notify me that I was a week late in making my minimum order and after TEN YEARS with the company, I was dropped and lost my whole downline at the drop of a hat and there was not a whole lot I could do about it. Furthermore, MLM companies close their doors all the time and if that happens to your company you are totally screwed unless you have developed a You Inc., have your list of people/contacts, and can find a new opportunity and bring those people with you! Without a You Inc., you probably won’t even have the contact information for your downline nor a relationship with them strong enough for them to follow you anywhere. So you are left high and dry! This happens all the time just like in any other business where the business fails and you lose your job. It can be a lot worse with a Network Marketing business though if you haven’t built your major asset as a Network Marketer, your list.
The Assets of You Inc.
The “You Incorporated” Traffic Formula, and the list and relationships you build as part of it, is the Ultimate In Security and a foundation for real lifetime business that cannot be taken away from you.
Network Marketing, MLM, and Failure Rate
If you are wanting to build a successful MLM business, you really have to do your homework. Things are not all as they seem, especially if you listen to the hype around Network Marketing companies themselves. This hype could end up making you part of the 97% statistical failure rate for people getting involved in MLM. Yes, this means that only 3-5% of network marketers actually make enough money to support themselves. Sorry, but it is true.
Why don’t you hear this from the companies themselves? Well, because they are making money even off of your failure. Not that they want you to fail, just that either they are believing their own hype, or because there are only so many sponsors/uplines who have figured out how to make money off of their downline and they aren’t sharing with their downlines how to be a leader. Sometimes it’s just because they don’t know how to make their success reproducible or how to share what they are doing to be successful.
What separates the successful leaders from the unsuccessful downlines though is that they are implementing business and marketing principles that most people do not know without going to business school or learning in other ways.
This however is the whole reason I have built this site. I am providing you with these techniques and business tools, as well as helping shatter the ridiculous myths so many are made to believe out of innocence, faith and desperation, in something they so hope can truly make them money.
As I’ve stated, most will fail without a real education in marketing and business principles. The only time you ever find people starting a business without any knowledge of what they are doing is with network marketing, because it is the only time a business is offered to literally anyone, and furthermore is surrounded by a bunch of hype to actually make you believe you can be successful just by “sharing” the product.
Just like someone wouldn’t generally try to fly a plane without learning how first, someone also shouldn’t try to get a business off the ground before doing a lot of learning and research about their specific business and niche.
