Here’s a news flash; men do wear scarves. Perhaps surprising to some, men wear scarves for basically the same reasons as women. While what gets chosen for color and style choices vary, we now find men discovering both the practical and fashion benefits of scarves too much to resist. Strolling through Denver one day I saw eight different men sporting what looked like quite nicely made scarves. It was an overcast and chilly winter day. Two of the scarf choices told a bit of a story, since these two scarves looked hand-woven, with simple lines and muted colors. In my eyes, each of these men looked more intelligent, refined, creative and, perhaps, more caring than the others walking down the streets next to them. No matter what one’s impression is of the fashion statement, the scarves certainly added to a nice look for each of these men while also serving to keep a cold wind at bay.

SO it’s goodbye London Fashion Week until next year, as the sartorial bonanza drew to a close with menswear day on Wednesday. Highlights included a spot of celebrity bingo with Topshop’s front row (Jamie Hince, Mr Kate Moss to you, and Sir Philip Green were all to be seen) and Oliver Spencer’s shortened trousers. Also striking was the widespread presence of the pyjama bottom and luxe sportswear as seen at Christopher Shannon and E.Tautz, but don’t worry, we don’t expect you to go to work in a pair of track pants. Luckily, also dominating the catwalks were wearable pieces worth investing in, which will make sure you’re bang on trend when spring rolls around.
